We are talking a 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU, 512MB of RAM, and Android 2.2 in addition to a 7-inchcapacitive touchscreen. Yes, the awful resistive touchscreen of the original is being put to rest. HDMI output and GSM radio support round out the new CherryPad.
And for all that seems to be improving, the price isn’t actually jumping up that much. The price is looking to double into the $300-$400 range, which remains affordable while still being priced just a bit higher than we’d actually want to spend on a device that succeeds the original CherryPad.
